Blackhead Removal - What's The Best Way to Get Rid of Blackheads?
86Blackheads suck, but blackhead removal is easy.
Yeah, I said it. They can be painful and make your face look like it's dirty. They certainly aren't as bad as their closed top counterparts (whiteheads), but they are still a pain. Blackhead removal is pretty easy too. You can either push them out or change your face wash.
Blackheads are very similar to whiteheads, except they are open at the tip. The pore that they grow in makes too much sebum, and this excess mixes with dead skin cells, bacteria, and other grime on your face to form the blackhead. Where one blackhead is, more are likely to pop up in the area. They also have the ability to grow on any part of your body, this makes knowing how black head removal works all the more important.
What Should You Do About It?
While blackheads seem like the harmless counterparts of major pimples, not treating them will lead to more pimples and worse acne. Be sure to do something about them before they grow into a much larger problem. Read on to learn what steps to take, how to do it properly, and some great tools to use.
Blackhead Removal - Push Them Out
For minor blackheads, pushing them out is probably the best method for removal. You must keep a few things in mind though. Most importantly is that you must be sanitary while doing this. Having an open wound on your face is an open door for infection, namely staph infection. Before blackhead removal, wash your face first, then your hands before starting. After the blackhead has been removed, use a cotton swab with alcohol to sterilize it. It'll sting a little bit, but that's better than dealing with infection later on. This is the best way to get rid of blackheads.
Also, it's super important to be very careful while pushing the blackhead out. If you push down on your face too hard you will damage the tissue underneath the surface of the skin. Tissue damage below the skin level will contribute to acne scars if a major breakout happens in that same area. It also hurts to push hard on your face! If it hurts, you're probably doing it wrong! Do your best to push sideways for blackhead removal, or acne scar removal will be your next step!
Blackhead Removal Tools
Blackhead Removal - Exfoliate
Depending on your skin's level of sensitivity, changing your face wash to an exfoliator is the best way for blackhead removal. If your skin is very sensitive or dry, this may be out of the question. Also, if you are using other acne treatments or acne medications from your doctor adding another solution to the mix will aggravate your skin further. Be sure to read the labels on every product you use to make sure you aren't going to make the problem worse.
Using an exfoliating face wash helps clear the crap off your face and prevent the pores from clogging up. It will remove the dead skin cells and dirt before they get stuck in your skin's follicles. Most exfoliating face washes also have acne treating medication as well (usually salicylic acid) that helps treat your whiteheads and blemishes as well.
For the past three or four years, my daily face wash for blackhead removal has been St. Ives Apricot Scrub. In my opinion it is the best face wash for blackheads. It can be found at any local drug store or big-box retailer. Amazon currently has a great price on a six-pack (see link below) that will save you $7-8.

This is actually my favorite product out of everything I have tried!
Blackhead removal is a must if one wants to have a fresh clean face, I have found that ground nut oil and lime juice works wonders to prevent formation of blackheads, which can be a real pain to remove once they attack your face.
My wife tries to get me to use a face scrub because I get blackheads around the edges of my lips - she is right, but when you are in a hurry to get out of the door in the morning you tend to skip the extras!
i got blackheands on myface i got them when i was 14 i use pore stips but they come back all the time now that i am 23 i still got them what do i do help me
My daughter has so many black heads. We remove them and they come back. Besides washing and drinking water do you have any other advice? We tried pore strips, but they don't work well.
I totally agree with what you said about making sure you keep things sanitary when using blackhead tools. Another thing I'd suggest though, is disinfecting the part of the tool that makes contact with your face, by soaking it in rubbing alcohol.
Hi! Very useful info! I would remember these techniques in case my daughter needs them any time -- Thanks
I'm 13 and on my chin I have mini white pimples, when I press on it hurts. I pop omit and white stuff come out. It comes back every 2 days! Ahhhhhh... Where do I buy the face wash for it?
Yes, this hub is very useful.I really liked this.
I just have to share my secret to blackheads!!! I have struggled with blackheads on my nose for years. I used the biore strips, but they just come back as you all know. And you can't deal with them until they get large enough to pull out. So you always have a few left on your nose that are visible, but too small to pull. How do you get rid of ALL of them for good?
Recently I did the unthinkable and washed my face with bar soap because I ran out of face cleanser. After a couple days of this I realized that my nose was completely smooth!!! Every little black head is now gone.
The secret: Dove sensitive skin beauty bar.
It doesn't dry my face out too much and it's so effective that I only do it every other day or so to give my skin a break. It's the simplest, cheapest solution to such a common problem.
I have pretty clear skin, so I don't know if this works for all acne related problems. It definitely worked on those white "blackheads" that pepper your nose. Hope that helps!
I get blackheads alll on my nose!!! there are usually huge ones then small ones all around it. what can i do!!!! please and thank you(:
Neutrogena facial soap or wash works good, but incorporating it into your daily routine is also good! Try to use it twice daily :)
Great Hub. I get them mostly on and around my nose. I use an apricot scrub and facial sauna and it works great! I try to do it at least once a week.
How do you get rid of Blackheads on your back, the skin does not let you squeeze them out, the skin rolls in, very difficult to remove. Please help.
Try using a loofah for all over exfoliation when you're in the shower and using a facial scrub on your back will also work a treat. If it's really bad try to wear loose breathable material around the area. Hope this helps ")
has anyone tried waxing blackheads off??
Does our diet have anything to do with blackheads?
i have blackhead all over my face and some place of my body what i do?please tell me???

Best way to get rid of blackheads?
Make sure you are exfoliating regularly so that oils and dirt don't build up on your skin. This will have the biggest impact on clearing up blackheads and preventing them from coming back.
Don't forcibly remove them, that's gonna cause scarring etc.
